Muslim Community Applauds RCMP Decision Allowing Muslim Women Mounties to Wear Hijab
Ahmadiyya Muslim Women's Association commends RCMP decision to uphold the freedom of expression
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Women’s Association Canada strongly supports the recent decision of the RCMP permitting women to wear the Hijab as part of the uniform. It is uplifting and powerful to see that the RCMP continues to be a progressive police service that respects all cultures and religions.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at appreciates Canada for being a leader in promoting inclusive work environments. Canadian leadership is a shining example for the world for upholding the freedom of conscience and expression.
In the words of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, “In Canada, can we speak of acceptance, openness, friendship, understanding? It is about where we are going and what we are going through every day in our diverse and rich communities.”
